If you hold a degree in media management, you have many options from which to choose. You can become a producer, journalism teacher, public relations director, or book publisher. The media industry has plenty of management positions, and with your degree, the opportunities are many.

Public Relations Director

Businesses and government agencies are always in need of people who can present a good image of them to the people, and this is a main duty of the public relations director. If you have a media management degree, you may want to consider operating your own public relations agency and hire yourself out to those companies.

Academia

People with media management degrees can also find work as journalism teachers in high schools and colleges, although a doctorate is needed if you plan to teach at a university.

Publishing

Your media management degree can also land you a good job in publishing. For example, you may consider becoming a newspaper or magazine publisher. Or if you prefer editing, you may decide to become an editor of a department or editor-in-chief.

Salary

Your salary depends on the aspect of media you work in, but according to PayScale, the average salary for someone with a Bachelor of Arts degree is $44,000. If you hold a master's degree in this field, your salary would be about $72,000.

Outlook

The job outlook varies by industry but according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there will be an increase in growth of 12 percent for advertising and public relations managers by the year 2016. There will also be continued growth in publishing careers with the rise of Internet media.
